Dare to walk

At first I said ... WTF!?!?!

Then I said ... kind of cool.

Then I said ... I want to try it on!

Saucy heel-less heels (which I keep typing as HELL -less... go figure) marked the runway at several shows. Who cares how you can walk in them...the fact is - you can. AND its not all that uncomf...

Something about them almost reminds me of medieval fashion - the torture aspect - I don't think so...I think its the re-inventing of the shoe shape.
Regardless. These heels are a new silhouette. I love that this is really new. Not 80s or 60s or 50s, but really new. I want these shoes and I wish they had springs in them for efficient running and post-apocalyptic exploration. How can you explore with a broken heel? No worries with these shoes....

WTF do you think?!! Tortourous shoes reminicient of ancient chinese foot-binding? Or something new? Something ...other ?

Street Style Favorites

Some of these are old-ish pics, but still hawt. I realize that a lot of them are via FaceHunter. Not that I don't have other sources - I just didn't see anything inspiring. So much of the time it seems like they photo the same person over and over again, or the same outfit...etc. I'm sick of people that look like they are wearing 35 different patterned blankets with a belt.

Sleeves, you are so sexy. Look at the leg warmers too. Love you, girl!

via FaceHunter
What would it be like to wear it? Wish there were other pictures of her with her arms down too. A cool construction! Nice print too.
via FaceHunter
Oh I love the tutu/ruffled skirt thing and the ripped tights. I always will.
via Face Hunter
Lose the headband - I'm so sick of that style. But the hood of that coat is AWE-SUUUMMMM!!!! Big hoods are the bestestest.
via FaceHunter
I love military jackets and buttons. I also like the road wet with all the trees.

via Sartorialist
I love the tough leather black edgy meets bright flowing pretty. I would so wear this.

via Sartorialist
Love the military / marching band look of this jacket. I also like the colors and the cut. Is she wearing leather pants?

Music Monday

Man what a Monday....
Nothing like being woken up half hung over by an annoying (yet loving) cat at 3 o'clock in the freakin morning. Who then proceeds to lick your skin raw, purr, tap your nose and jump around until you finally get up 4 hours later - late too of course. Can't find your glasses, rip apart your bed with one hand, while pulling your eye with the other hand so you can squint to see.
So here's some damn music. Seems to be the only kind of post I can make on this blog! But whatever. I spend a lot more time on my other blog mousehouse. I'm still keeping this blog, not shutting down or anything. Its just hard to give love to two blogs and full time work and full time school...no wonder I don't have a boyfriend!

MGMT- Electric Feel (Lyrics only -Not official video)

Architecture In Helsinki - Heart It Races (A very weird video!)

The Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go (Lyrics only)

The Ting Tings - Great DJ (Song had been driving me cAR-Azzzeee--in a good way)

A laugh

A little laugh for you.

John J Marley's letters to major corporations. Dry witty fun. Plus the replies! The replies are really what seals the deal for me (some of them..!).

Kanye West:: Love Lockdown...sick beat.

Beyonce:: Diva ... Damn, I love those glasses at the beginning!!! Its got a great beat too.

MGMT:: Kids....I love that line "A family of trees wanted to be haunted."

Etsy Adore

This designer specializes in making tentacle jewlery hand-cast in silver from real octopus tentacles.

In her words: "The Octopus is a symbol of Transformation and Regeneration. Because of its reputation of changing colors to match its backgrounds, the octopus is also known as the Master of Disguise."

And the jewelry is gorgeous, creepy, and perfect.

Etsy Adore

I found this designer on Craftster about two years ago, and immediately fell head over heels. I absolutely LOVE her style. If ever you want to surprise me, send me one of her jackets. She is amazing and largely self-taught - gotta respect that.
